EK Omnia, New Addition to EK Range
Mahlkönig EK Omnia was officially introduced at HostMilano 2023 in Milan. This brand-new launched grinder adds the premium level to the current EK range which includes EK43 and EK43 S. The innovative and revolutionary grinder will assist baristas in maintaining the best workflow with some new features added.
New grinder is priced at approximately €3000 in Europe and could be $200 ~ $1000 higher when all the tax and logistics fee are calculated.
What’s New in Mahlkönig EK Omnia?
In Mahlkönig’s new grinder, there are noticeable several new features added. These features will generally increase the workflow and the convenience level in commercial coffee industry.
Digital Touchscreen and Library Mode
Omnia is equipped with a digital screen, a feature not found in other EK models. This screen displays the gap between burrs in numbers. Users can adjust the grind size not only by turning the dial, as with other grinders, but also in 1-micron increments through the digital touch function. This feature allows for a more precise and delicate coffee extraction process.
Moreover, the newly introduced library mode provides users with convenience that is unique to Omnia. In this mode, up to ten recipes can be saved, and when each recipe is selected, the grind size is automatically adjusted to the saved value. It appears that this function was added to address the inconvenience faced with the EK43 model, where users had to manually adjust the dial every time they needed to grind different types of coffee beans from the previous setting.

- Pre-Dosing Unit (Volumetric Dosing Hopper): Assists the time mode, newly added feature, where users can grind by time, like with other grinders.
